Dog license tags must be attached to the collar or harness at all times when in public. Licenses are obtained through the city’s Vital Statistics Office located on the first floor in City Hall, for information on licensing call 60. Owners must present a valid rabies certificate in order to obtain a new license. Licensing RequirementsĪll dogs must be licensed by 6 months of age, and licenses must be renewed no later than January 31st yearly.

Redemption fees are accepted in cash or money order only. Owners reclaiming their pets will be charged a redemption fee based on the number of days your pet is housed and the services it receives. The mission of THLEAS is to educate the public on the humane treatment of animals and to be better pet owners. It provides the community with services that enhance the humane care and treatment of Trenton’s animals. The Trenton Humane Law Enforcement and Animal Services ( THLEAS) Unit is a municipal office operating under the auspices of the Department of Health and Human Services and The Trenton Police Department.
